‘I hope this weather lasts out the three weeks we’ve got left of the holiday,’ said Julian, rolling away from Timmy, who was pawing at him, trying to make him play. ‘Go away, Timmy. You’re too energetic. We’ve bathed, had a run, played ball - and that’s quite enough for a little while. Go and play with the crabs!’
‘Woof!’ said Timmy, disgusted. Then he pricked up his ears as he heard a tinkling noise from the promenade. He barked again.
‘Trust old Timmy to hear the ice-cream man,’ said Dick. ‘Anyone want an ice-cream?’
Everyone did, so Anne collected the money and went off to get the ice-creams, Timmy close at her heels. She came back with five cartons of ice-cream, Timmy jumping up at her all the way.
‘I can’t think of anything nicer than lying down on hot sand with the sun on every part of my body, eating an ice-cream, and knowing there are still three weeks’ holiday in front of us - at Kirrin too!’ said Dick.

A good start

This is a good place to start for getting a base of vocabulary, worksheets, and discussion questions for Romeo and Juliet. It is basically just a collection of worksheets (most of which you won't have time to use) that you can pick and choose from. I usually use some of the questions in discussion. A lot of times I will use part of what they have for a worksheet and combine it with something I have. For the price, this book is a good resource that you will definately find useful.

Helpful to new Shakespeare teachers

If you are reasonably new to teaching Shakespeare this book has some good ideas to liven up your class.
It breaks down the activities into different acts, and it uses approaches that will appeal to different learning styles. There are a number of useful activities, worksheets, and practices quizzes that will get you up and rolling. When a new teacher is stuck, this is one of the books that I loan them.
For the experienced teacher, or someone who considers themself well-versed in Shakespeare, this book is a little elementary. It functions great in support, but lacks a little all on its own. I do however find it useful in conjunction with books like Shakespeare Set Free.

New Shakespeare Teacher

As a first year English teacher, the thought of teaching Shakespeare intimidated me. Thankfully, a more experienced teacher loaned me a copy of this book. It was a lifesaver. It gave me a place from which to start. The helpful vocabulary lists and exercises, as well as the pre and post reading activities gave me terrific ideas to use in the classroom. I immediately ordered my own copy of this book. I will not hesitate to loan it to the newest English teacher down the hall.

Just One Exercise

On the positive side, the single exercise featured here is beautifully presented with colorful and detailed drawings. The exercise is clearly described in the text section. I have used it and found it very energizing.

Unfortunately, the rest of the text is an elementary review of the chakras and testimonials. It reads in large part like a term paper. In the testimonial section reference is made to Super Brain yoga exercises. I would have liked to see those other routines.

If you are expecting an in depth, detailed routine, you will be disappointed. If you would like to try a simple but effective exercise and find testimonials inspiring, this book is for you.

After Mussolini's entry into the European War, on the side of Nazi Germany, she agitated against the return to Italy of her African colonies. Ever against colonialism, she clashed with the British Government in demanding the full restoration of Ethiopian independence, and advocated the "reunion" of the former Italian colony of Eritrea with Ethiopia. She raised funds for Ethiopia's first teaching hospital, and wrote extensively on Ethiopian art and culture. Having moved to Addis Ababa in 1956, with her son, the author, she founded a monthly journal, Ethiopia Observer, on many aspects of Ethiopian life and development. She died in 1960, and was buried with the Ethiopian Patriots, in front of Trinity Cathedral in Addis Ababa, in the presence of the Emperor.

In this beautifully written book, the author, the current leading Ethiopianst and the son of Mrs. Pankhurst, describes and reviews the work of his mother. The book introduces a new generation of Ethiopians and those interested in Ethiopian history to Mrs. Pankhurst's advocacy on behalf of Ethiopia during and after the Italian occupation of Ethiopia. This is definately a must read book!!!

Un buen libro escrito por un magn�fico erudito del Nuevo Testamento. Lamentablemente el libro est� mal traducido: "United Kingdom" (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) est� traducido como "Reino Unido de Inglaterra" en vez de Reino Unido de Gran Breta�a. "1,3 billion of people are without sanitation" como "1,3 millones" en vez de "mil trescientos millones". �Y todo ello en el primer cap�tulo!

Sarma is the author of numerous technical articles published in leading journals, including the first studies of methods for computer-aided analysis of three-dimensional nonlinear electromagnetic field problems as applied to the design of electrical machinery. This book was published in 1994. I guess not much has changed since then. It is not a very good read, but the homework questions are pretty straight forward.

Not bad, but not good either

I have this book, and have read it. At the university I give lectures in dynamics of electrical machines. For the students it is the first time they expirience electrical machines. A problem you always face is what is a good book on electrical machines? I know from expirience that the perfect book propperly will never exist. In this book, I must say, there are some very good explanations on how the different motors work and their dynamics. However, for long pasages it is _not_ clear what the aim is. For a person already knowing electrical machines, it is interesting to talk about motor-windings in a general way, but if want to learn how the basic motors as a DC_motor, a induction motor and a synchronous motor works, it is nescessary to explain electromechanical energy convertion first and then attack each of the motors individually. This is where this book fails. It is a mess with some good parts inside.
