One of the better jig books

I am finding this to be one of the better jig books I own. When thinking about building a jig such as a band saw circle cutting jig or a cross-cut box for a table saw, I've looked around the internet, but have always come back to build the jigs in this book simply because they offer more versatility and features.

This book is written by the editors of Woodsmith and ShopNotes Magazines, and is very well written and very clearly drawn. Not all machine tools are built the same and there are notes in the plans of the dimensions you will need to change based on your machine. This book is very inexpensively priced on the used book market, and is well worth the money if your budget is tight.

Well written and Illustrated book

Book was like new - spiral bound and was delivered on time. Most of the jigs are a bit complex and would be expensive to build if the recommendations of the book are followed; however, all of the jigs are very useful if one spends a great deal of time in their woodworking shop. The author introduces the jig, then goes into great detail of how to build it listing the materials required the spends time explaining how to use the jig to get the most use from it.

Extremely satisfying!

I truly enjoyed reading The White Rose. The pace of the book was just perfect: lots of background, in-depth character analysis, but enough action to keep me engrossed in the plot. Marian is quite a believable person; it was easy to identify with her struggles. I loved Oliver, and cheered him on, especially later in the book (can't say what he does, exactly, or it will give away the surprise) when the fate of the woman he loves rests squarely on his ability to foil a plan. The plot is intricate, and the ending is surprising. I highly recommend The White Rose.

a romantic comedy you can feel good about loving

This book is a breezy, fun read but it also makes you think. There are elements of social comedy and farce, as well as delicious accounts of sex. It's a very hopeful book that cheers for its middle-aged heroine without bashing men. It's a book where (almost) all the characters grow from and are strengthened by the ordeals they endure. There is history here, and scholarship, and a social conscious, but mostly it's just a fun romp.

THE WHITE ROSE is everything a novel should be. This is a beautifully written book, and author Jean Hanff Korelitz is to be congratulated.

The story is rich and complex. There are a variety of plots and subplots, each of which is compelling enough to be the center of its own novel.

The story gets off to a slow start, which serves neither the author nor her readers well. Yet once one immerses oneself in these characters, THE WHITE ROSE is touching and gripping.

There are a multitude of love affairs described, with excellent descriptions of passion.

There are different versions of the story of the White Rose, including the real one about a small group of upper class Germans who resisted the Nazis.

There are details about the highest levels of academia and scholarship, and about the lifestyles of those New Yorkers who, quietly and without ostentation, are very, very rich.

THE WHITE ROSE is filled with amazing insights, so incisive and so clear that these literally are breathtaking.

The only quibbles go to the author's descriptions of cooking. In one scene, on a day she describes as warm, a character puts on a tweed jacket and necktie to reduce a sauce and boil some pasta. Please! Who wears wool to labor over a hot stove? In another scene, a different character cooks a brisket in less than an hour. It takes more than an hour simply to prep a brisket, and the cooking needs four to six hours. Didn't anyone associated with the manuscript--author, agent, editor--have a clue?

The other issue is the author's sense of direction. The route she suggests using between Manhattan and East Hampton is preposterous. Once again, this weird discrepancy stops the lovely flow of her story.

Yet as a book, THE WHITE ROSE is the finest use of the metaphor of the rose as an example both of the life cycle and a thing of pure beauty since the excellent novel THE ROSE GROWER was published in 2000.

Nice atlas

This is a very basic atlas. Perhaps it is more suitable for residents than for experienced surgeons, anyway, I like it. Of particular remark is the chapter on aortic valve sparing procedures, which is very clear, well written and has excellent illustrations.

On th other hand, I have discovered a mistake: Aortic root enlergement operations are wrongly described and depicted

Good overview in cardiac surgery techniques

Being somewhat basic, this atlas gives a very nice overview in current cardiovascular techniques for both beginners and practicing cardiac surgeons. It probably is more suitable for residents and junior surgeons than for experienced surgeons, yet. Great and helpful illustrations.

It's a masterpiece of heart surgery although it's photos are in full color it ends not here.
As a book it has also access to online videos of different surgical procedures of the heart region.
Although you may not be a Heart Surgeon but you are a Resident in another Surgery Region you MUST

About the Author
David J. Bulman is an economist at the World Bank and an adjunct lecturer at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. He is a core author of the World Development Report 2017 and contributed to China 2030 and Urban China. Professor Bulman has been a visiting scholar at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, a University of Chicago and Ford Foundation New Generation China Scholar, and an inaugural China Public Policy Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Massachusetts.

thorough explanations and great questions.

this book is very under rated!, i have used this series for step 2 and it really helped me on my test, and i am using this on my off time along with USMLEWORLD and it is great( the content overlaps but these explanations are more thorough.)

Full of Errors

Be careful! I am not even through the first section of this book, and I have found several errors: answers that are not consistent with their explanations, answers that are correct, but whose explanations are wrong and make no physiologic sense.

I was able to pick up these errors in subjects that I know well, but now I doubt the answers for subjects that I don't know well, like OB and surgery.
